Just thought I would share some advice for an annoying bug with Skyrim and the Steam Workshop not working as intended, as I think it's a common problem but I can not for the life of me find people talking about it. I went online and everything I could find said that when you started the launcher you would see it telling you in the bottom right corner that it was installing and that you would get a message saying when it was done.
Well that never happened. Turns out that even though I never got the message of it telling me that it was installing the mods it was still downloading them, I just had no way of knowing.
So if your mods are not installing, just launch the game and let it sit at the launcher for a few minutes; even if it looks like it's not doing anything. To make sure things are being installed, just click on the 'Data Files' button and you should see them starting to propagate as they download.

Right-click the affected game and select Properties. Step 6. Now, you can try downloading a new mod and check if the Steam Workshop not downloading mods issue is fixed. The corrupt download cache is another common factor that triggers the Steam Workshop not downloading subscribed mods issue.
To fix this issue, follow the steps below to clear the download cache in Steam. Step 1. Expand the Settings menu and select the download tab. Click on the Clear Download Cache button at the bottom of the screen and click Yes at the confirmation prompt to clear the locally download cache. If anyone has any other information please post! If you install the game on a different machine, as a test, do they come down there?
Well, I was able to figure out by verifying the game again. Don't know what I did differently than last time but it works. Now I have another problem that was the actual reason I reinstalled my game. Any mod that is from the workshop crashes my game if I try to enable it.
I use to be able to start a few before city skylines crashed and then it kept getting worse to a point I can't enable any of them. Also to answer your point of unsubscribing from ALL my workshop content, won't happen. I play this game because of the modding capabilities. I enjoy the detail I can create with the mods. Without them, I have no reason to want to play this game. Languages: English. Guide Index. How To. This guide is for the game Left 4 Dead 2. If you "Subscribe" to an item to download, let's say a model that you want to edit, you probably won't be able to as Steam adds an encryption to most downloads.
